JOHN LYLES TORONTO
John M. Lyle was an influential Canadian architect in the early 20th century. His granddaughter, Lorna Harris, will give a talk about his work focusing on his Toronto designs, including Union Station and the Royal Alexandra Theatre, and his leadership in architecture and urban planning in the city. She will also talk about his role as a passionate Cultural Nationalist.

The evening will include an opportunity to enjoy a curated historical display of Lyles work including family materials, archival photos and blueprints, documents and books. Lorna has been presenting at Doors Open events at John Lyle buildings across Eastern Canada since 2010.  You can hear more about Lyles work and life in Lornas audio talk at Portrait Sonore on the following links.  http://portraitsonore.org/en/interviews
